Terms of Service

A service agreement written to read like an operating framework, not a legal fog.

Last updated: September 30, 2025 · Effective: September 30, 2025

Clear responsibility

The service can be used only in ways that stay lawful and consistent with these terms.

Privacy-first billing

Premium access is based on minimal entitlement records, not stored payment personal data.

Operational limits

Room limits, note limits, availability, liability, and enforcement boundaries are stated directly rather than implied.

01

Acceptance of terms

Using K9Crypt means accepting the contractual rules that govern access to the service.

  • By accessing or using K9Crypt, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and applicable laws and regulations.
  • If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the service.
  • Continued use of K9Crypt after updates constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
  • These terms apply to visitors, registered users, and administrators using the platform.

02

Accounts and security

Account access remains the user's responsibility, including credential handling and account activity.

  • You must provide accurate account information within the limits of the product's required fields.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and devices.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account unless unauthorized use is reported promptly.
  • K9Crypt may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create security risk.

03

Acceptable use

The service may be used only for lawful activity and not for abuse, evasion, or harm.

  • You may not use K9Crypt to transmit illegal content or facilitate unlawful activity.
  • You may not harass, threaten, abuse, impersonate, or deceive other users through the service.
  • You may not attempt unauthorized access, distribute malicious code, or interfere with platform operation.
  • Automated use, scraping, or operational abuse is prohibited without explicit written permission.

04

Premium billing, licenses, and subscriptions

Premium features are provided through a license and entitlement model designed to avoid unnecessary payment data storage.

  • K9Crypt may offer a free plan and a premium plan. The free plan currently allows up to 10 stored notes, and premium currently provides unlimited stored notes plus higher or unlimited owned-room limits where the product states that benefit.
  • Premium checkout is processed by Creem. K9Crypt does not process, receive, or store your card number, CVC, bank account details, invoice name, invoice address, or raw payment instrument information.
  • After purchase, the payment provider may deliver a license key. You are responsible for copying that license key and activating it in K9Crypt where the product requires activation.
  • K9Crypt does not retain the raw license key after activation. The service stores only the minimum non-readable license and entitlement state required to provide premium access.
  • Premium cancellation may be scheduled through K9Crypt where supported. When cancellation is scheduled, premium access may remain active until the current paid period ends.
  • Premium resume and sync actions may be available to reactivate a scheduled cancellation or refresh subscription state when payment-provider updates are delayed.

05

User content and privacy

Users remain responsible for what they send, while privacy architecture limits normal access to content.

  • You are solely responsible for the content transmitted through your use of K9Crypt.
  • K9Crypt follows a zero-knowledge direction and does not rely on routine access to message content.
  • Billing and premium entitlement handling is described in the Privacy Policy, including the fact that raw payment details and raw license keys are not intended to be stored by K9Crypt.
  • Your use of the service is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which forms part of the operating context of these terms.
  • You are responsible for configuring product features appropriately and for preserving any data you need to keep.

06

Payments, refunds, and provider terms

Paid checkout depends on the external payment provider and may be subject to provider rules.

  • Payment completion, license delivery, renewal, cancellation scheduling, and subscription-provider state may depend on Creem systems and provider-side processing times.
  • K9Crypt may expose self-service actions such as checkout, license activation, subscription cancellation, subscription resume, and premium status sync, but backend entitlement records remain the source of truth for room and note limits.
  • If a provider update is delayed, the product may allow you to manually refresh premium status. Rate limits may apply to prevent abuse and provider overload.
  • Refunds, chargebacks, failed payments, provider disputes, fraud checks, and payment-provider account issues may affect premium access according to applicable law, provider rules, and K9Crypt operational policy.
  • You must not share, resell, forge, brute force, abuse, or attempt to reuse license keys or subscription access outside its intended account binding.

07

Service availability and changes

The platform is provided as available, and operational changes may occur as product needs evolve.

  • K9Crypt is provided on an as-is and as-available basis without guarantees of uninterrupted service.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service as product, security, or legal needs require.
  • Scheduled or emergency maintenance may temporarily affect availability.
  • We are not liable for interruptions, delays, or losses resulting from circumstances outside reasonable control.

08

Intellectual property

K9Crypt retains rights to its brand and proprietary work, while users retain rights to their own content.

  • K9Crypt and its original brand assets, interface, and proprietary features remain the property of K9Crypt.
  • Users retain rights to the content they create and transmit through the service.
  • Open-source components remain governed by their respective licenses.
  • You may not reproduce, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from proprietary parts of the service without permission where applicable law does not permit it.

09

Liability and indemnity

Liability is limited to the extent permitted by law, and users remain responsible for harm caused by misuse.

  • K9Crypt and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  • Total liability for claims related to the service will not exceed the amount paid for the service in the relevant period where such a limit is legally enforceable.
  • You agree to indemnify K9Crypt against claims arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
  • Some jurisdictions may not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may apply only where enforceable.

10

Termination and disputes

Accounts may be closed by the user or restricted by the service, and legal disputes follow the rules stated here.

  • You may stop using the service and close your account at any time where the product makes that available.
  • We may suspend or terminate access immediately for violations, abuse, or security-related reasons.
  • These terms are governed by applicable law and disputes may be subject to arbitration or other resolution mechanisms where enforceable.
  • Questions about legal interpretation should be directed to legal@k9crypt.xyz before formal escalation where that path is available.

11

Changes and contact

When terms change materially, official channels are used to communicate updates and contact points remain available.

  • These terms may be updated to reflect product, legal, security, or operational changes.
  • Material updates may be communicated through the platform, email, or other appropriate channels.
  • If you do not agree to revised terms, you should stop using the service.
